Put some Pom on it!!

At BODY & BOTANY, we take great pride in using Mother Nature’s most potent ingredients, so I wanted to share them with you!

This particular ingredient not only speaks to the Season, but also boasts quite an impressive array of skin-boosting elements!

Ah lovely Pomegranate!

Not only does this ravishingly, red & rotund fruit of temptation look incredibly whimsical, it withholds many skin-beautifying & purifying properties that we were eager to unlock!

It's uses dating back to ancient Egypt, the Pomegranate has proven itself to embody medicinal, detoxing & restorative abilities.

Pomegranate in Skincare:

1. Antioxidants

One of the key skin-loving attributes of pomegranate that is worth adoring, is its incredibly high content of antioxidants, like Vitamin C!

The beauty world uses many source of antioxidants in skincare because they have shown to be major players in combating the process of aging.

Antioxidants applied to skin have been clinically shown to reduce the incidence of both age spots & wrinkles!

2. Cell Regeneration

Pomegranate has been shown to support & repair the outer layers of skin & participate in cellular regeneration of the inner layers.

By increasing circulation & healing, it plays a role in tissue repair & wound healing!

3. Sun Protection

Sun protecting compounds in Pomegranate help ward of damage of free radicals.

Pomegranate seed oil has been shown to work against skin cancer due to its content of ellagic acid, found in large quantities in pomegranates, which researchers have found to inhibit the growth of skin tumors!

* Despite this heralding ability, please still remember to apply a clinically proven SPF to your skin for the utmost sun protection, my loves!

4. Fights acne!

Healing components in Pomegranate (in particular, it's peel!) have antibacterial properties that have been shown to not only keep pimples away, but to to help prevent bacteria & infection to fester.

5. Protects & Moisturizes

Enzymes in Pomegranate help protect the skin from environmental damage by restoring healthy pH & locking in moisture.

This is critical when it comes to warding off aging because as our skin ages, we lose some of our ability to regulate the pH & produce healthy oils!

 6. Cleansing

Rich in flavonoids & punicic acid, Pomegranate has amazing cleansing properties!

These help all the nourishing benefits absorb & give skin a radiant glow.

She is one amazing super-fruit!

As with every ingredient, any Goddess can have an allergy to Pomegranate, so it's always best to test new ingredients in a small area first, to assure your delicate skin agrees with it's magic!

You can find Pomegranate in our Face Nectar Repair Serum & Rejuvenation Petal Eye Revitalizer

With love & light,
